Shelton lead Travis out onstage by the arm to raucous cheers from the crowd. “You tell me miracles can’t happen, you’re looking at one right here, man,” Shelton said. “This guy walking out here tonight, this is one of my heroes, and it oughta be one of your heroes, man. Thank you so much for being here, Randy. We all love you.”
Travis suffered a stroke in 2013, which impacted his ability to speak and walk. He has since stopped making as many public appearances, but he did attend the 2016 induction ceremony of the Country Music Hall of Fame. His wife stood next to him onstage and delivered his acceptance speech.
Shelton, meanwhile, will soon drop his newest album If I’m Honest on May 20th. It features a song he co-wrote with his girlfriend Gwen Stefani.
